Great Moving Train Social Club International

July 2026 8 min read

Our Beginning

The Great Moving Train International Social Club was founded on the enduring bond of friendship, brotherhood, and a shared commitment to supporting one another through life's challenges.

The story began with six close friends living in Italy: Mr. Chinedu Okafor, Mr. Chinatu Ubani, Mr. John Matthew, Mr. Nnamdi Muodukwu, Mr. Chuks Ikwuakolam Omumu, and Mr. Daniel Anyaeri. Over time, some relocated to Germany while one returned to Nigeria; the distance never weakened their friendship. They remained connected, maintained their strong bond, and continued to support one another despite living in different countries.

In 2020, the passing of Mr. Daniel Anyaeri's mother became a defining moment. Recognising the importance of standing by a friend during difficult times, Mr. Chinatu Ubani contacted the other friends and proposed the formation of the Committee of Friends (COF) to provide financial and emotional support. The proposal received unanimous support.

To strengthen the initiative, Mr. Chinatu Ubani invited two additional friends residing in Germany — Mr. Bertrand Chekwube Ugorji and Mr. Samson Ndenojuo — to join the Committee of Friends.

What began as a temporary support group soon evolved into something much greater. The members realised they had created more than just a committee. They had formed a brotherhood built on trust, unity, and compassion. This realisation led to the establishment of the Great Moving Train International Social Club.

The Moving Train Never Stops Moving Forward.

Club Motto

The name "The Moving Train" was chosen because it symbolised the group's collective vision and aspirations. Like a train that never stops moving forward, the members saw themselves as progressive-minded individuals committed to continuous growth, unity, mutual support, and collective success. They embraced the philosophy of "Our Brother's Keeper," reflecting their belief that no member should face life's challenges alone.

Growth and Organisational Development

As the club matured, members invited trusted friends from different parts of the world to join the vision. Membership steadily increased from the original group into a vibrant international brotherhood. With this growth came the need for a formal organisational structure. The club adopted a constitution, established executive offices, and developed policies to guide its operations while promoting accountability, transparency, and good governance.

Challenges and Resilience

In 2023, the club faced a significant leadership transition when the Chairman, Mr. Ejiro Efejedia, and the Secretary, Mr. Chinedu Okafor, unexpectedly left the club. Despite this setback, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Bond Peter Njoku, stepped forward to provide stable leadership. Under his guidance, the club remained united, introduced innovative ideas and initiatives, strengthened its investment culture, expanded its membership, and continued to fulfil its mission of supporting members and their families.

This period demonstrated the resilience of the organisation and reaffirmed that the strength of the Moving Train lies not in any one individual, but in the collective commitment of its members.

Looking Ahead

Today, the Great Moving Train International Social Club continues to move forward with the same vision that inspired its members in 2020. Built on friendship, trust, accountability, and the principle of being Our Brother's Keeper, the club remains committed to improving the lives of its members, supporting their families, and leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.

The Moving Train Never Stops Moving Forward.
